Add your calendar to WordPress

Updated 09/02/2026

Paste the Inscramble embed code into a Custom HTML block in the WordPress editor. The embed calendar appears where the block is placed.

Steps

  1. In 'Service settings', open the 'Embed calendar' tab.
  2. Under 'Embed type', turn on 'Script embed' so the calendar height follows the content. Adjust 'Max width (px)' if needed.
  3. In the 'Embed code' card, select 'Copy code'.
  4. In WordPress, edit the page or post, add a Custom HTML block, and paste the code. Update or publish the page.

If the embed calendar doesn't appear

WordPress keeps script and iframe tags only for accounts with the unfiltered_html capability. Accounts without it are common on multisite networks and on sites with some security plugins. In that case WordPress removes those tags silently when you save, and the published page shows nothing. The block preview inside the editor can still show the calendar, so check the published page. Switching to the basic embed doesn't help, because the iframe tag is removed the same way.

You have two options:

  • Ask a site administrator to add the unfiltered_html capability to your account, or to paste the code for you, then check the published page.
  • Add a link or button to your booking page instead. In 'Service settings', the 'General' tab shows your booking page address in the 'Service URL' row with a 'Copy link' button.

Things to check

  • Guests pick a date and time inside the calendar. Contact details and payment open in a top-level Inscramble window.
  • 'Colors' and 'Display elements' are saved on the 'Embed calendar' screen and apply to the calendar you already pasted. Changing 'Max width (px)' or 'Embed type' changes the code, so copy and paste again after that.
