Notifications
Updated 09/02/2026
Notifications reach you through up to four channels: the in-app inbox under 'Notifications', push in the mobile app, browser notifications on the web, and email. Not every event uses every channel.
What you're notified about
Service members are notified when:
- A new booking comes in, or a guest cancels one. For online prepaid bookings this happens once the payment is confirmed.
- A pending request is close to its approval deadline.
- A chat message arrives. Chat is push only and doesn't appear in the inbox.
- A guest asks auto-reply to bring in a member.
- Someone invites you to a service.
Service owners also get payout, dispute, and Stripe account notices, subscription and free trial updates, and a notice if Inscramble restricts the service.
Guests get their own notifications for confirmations, cancellations, refunds, and reminders. Reminders go out only when 'Send reminders' is on in 'Reservation rules'.
How members receive them
Every service member, whatever their role, gets their own copy of a service notification in the language set on their profile, and reads it independently. In the service inbox, small avatars on a card show which members have already read it. Emails about new and cancelled bookings go to owners and admins only.
Push and browser notifications
- Mobile app: turning off 'Push notifications' in your personal 'Settings' stops both app push and browser push. The inbox and email aren't affected.
- Web: 'Browser notifications' is turned on per browser and device. On iPhone and iPad, add the site to your Home Screen first.
- App push and browser push are independent. If you use both, you get both.
Turning chat notifications off
In your personal 'Settings', turn off 'Chat notifications'. This stops chat alerts on every channel (inbox, app push, and browser push) for your account only. Other members keep receiving them, and other kinds of notifications are unaffected. New messages still show as unread in 'Chat'.
